BTW, I really want to go to the beach!

I’ve decided that instead of complaining about my arms I’m going to do something to improve them! I used to workout with weights a lot but not as much right now. Life got busy and the arms got flabby! I figured push-ups are something that I can squeeze in several times a day. They offer many benefits, some of which are listed below.

What are some push-up benefits?

  • Increases overall strength & flexibility
  • Improves cardiovascular system
  • Prevents lower back injuries and improve your posture
  • No equipment or gym membership is needed
  • Builds chest, shoulder, & arm muscles
  • Burns calories and fat
  • It releases endorphins which help to reduce depression
  • Improves sleep quality

Since I’m a person who is very motivated by a good challenge, I am starting a 30 day push-up challenge. I’ve decided to blog about it to keep myself accountable. 3000 sounded like a nice round number. This means I need to do about 115 a day since I am giving myself a rest day every week. 😲 I am also going to stretch before & after and increase my protein intake.

I took pictures of my arm just to see if there were noticable changes by the end of the challenge. In the top one my arm is relaxed. It’s flexed in the second. I measured my upper arm, too. Relaxed: 10.5″ Flexed: 11.25″.

Looking at this picture makes me even more determined. 😳

I began on Tuesday by doing 115 push-ups. I spread them out over the day into 4 sets so I’ve done 690 push-ups so far. I’m taking Sundays as my rest days. This is Monday so I have been at it for a week! This is going to be a challenging for sure, but not too hard. But I’m going to try my best to stick it out and update here.

Have you done any similar challenges? What were your results? Feel free to comment below. Thanks for reading & stay safe!
