I love simple sewing projects. I love t-shirts. So this one is a favorite of mine. It’s so lightweight. It’s great on cool evenings. And the style is so cute over a tank top or short sleeve tee. It would also be nice over a swimsuit on a boat some summer evenings. Try it, you’ll like it!

First: Get a plain t-shirt (round or v-neck) I picked this one up at Walmart.

Second: Cut it straight down the middle. I folded mine with the back shoulders together and ironed it to get a centered line.

Third: Fold over your newly cut pieces and iron. Now stitch up a seam on each side. This will be the casing for your ribbon. The width you choose will depend on the width of ribbon you are using for your tie.

Fourth: Feed the ribbon up one side and back down the other. I think this is easiest by attaching a safety pin to the end of your ribbon.
