Monochrome Madness – Hammock

Last summer I put this hammock up in the backyard to have a place to run off to for some peace and quiet. It’s my outdoor reading nook. Who doesn’t love lazing around in a hammock. For me this is the next best thing to camping, just without my beloved campfire. What makes it even better is the fact that if I’m really still and patient it’s likely that I will see deer, squirrels, chipmunks, and foxes. I’ve seen the occasional skunk in the neighborhood but luckily I haven’t run into one in my own yard. My neighbor claims to have seen a black bear. I don’t know about that but you can bet I’ll plow down some trees on my way back to the house if I ever see one!

Obviously I didn’t bother to take the hammock down at the end of the season and the leaves have taken over. This makes such a cool picture in black and white. I’ve attached the original photo below. It’s not nearly as inviting. I have no intention of taking it down. Maybe it will still be strong enough to hold me next year. Even if it isn’t it will probably make some cool spring pictures.
