A to Z Blogging Challenge-“J”- Wall Art

Day J! Today I felt creative early so I started this letter “J” wall art project not long after getting up.

Supplies used:

  • Canvas panel
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Stencil
  • Hot glue
  • Sequins
  • Ribbon
I found a flat 11″ x 14″ canvas panel that I didn’t have a plan for.
I painted the panel with two coats of granite gray acrylic paint. When dry, I used a pencil to lightly stencil a J.
Next, I painted the J with two coats of petunia purple.
With the coordinating ribbon I made a bow.
Then I trimmed the ends of the bow at an angle and put Fray Check on the edges to prevent fraying.
I used the hot glue gun to trim the edges, a little at a time, and added matching sequins.
Lastly, I used hot glue to attach the bow to the front and the ribbon to hang it to the back.

All done! That was fun and pretty quick since I held it in front of a heater to dry between coats of paint. I hung it on the wall above my sewing table. 😁
