It is a luxury to be understood.Ralph Waldo Emerson
Being understood feels like a luxury because it is a rare occurrence in today’s world that is often chaotic and confusing. We live in such a fast-paced environment where people are often preoccupied with their own thoughts, feelings, and agendas. As a result, effective communication can be challenging, and misunderstandings are all too common. When we are truly understood it makes us feel heard, valued, and respected. It also allows us to communicate our ideas and feelings with confidence, and it fosters a sense of trust and mutual understanding. The fact that it is so rare in today’s world is what puts it at the top of my list of luxuries.
