Energized By Surprise

Daily writing prompt
What things give you energy?

For years, I had scoffed at the idea of getting up early to start the day. The thought of waking up before the sun had even risen seemed absurd to me. That is, until I tried it for myself. One morning, I decided to set my alarm for 6 a.m. As soon as I woke up, I jumped out of bed and started my day. I made a cup of coffee, worked out with a YouTube video, and even managed to get some cleaning done before 8 a.m. To my surprise, I felt energized and it made me even more motivated. It was as if I had accomplished more in those few hours than I had in the entire day before. From that day forward, I’ve tried to make it a point to wake up early and start my day off being productive. I’ve found that by doing so, I have more time to focus on my goals and responsibilities. I am able to check so many things off my to-do list early which is oh so very motivating to me! Now, I can’t imagine going back to my old habits. Getting up early and starting the day off being productive has become a huge part of my routine.

I read the book The 5 AM Club not long ago. I’ve mentioned it before. I learned a lot from it. I have recently started the FlyLady cleaning method. Getting up early also helps me knock out a lot of things on my daily/weekly to-do lists from the FlyLady app. My house is sparkling thanks to the motivation and the daily routines and missions. If all that wasn’t enough, I also rest better at night and manage to get to bed a little earlier. So try it for yourself and see if it works for you!
