I have attended a couple of colleges and I’ve taken an unknown amount of online courses spanning from Life Coach to Decluttering Specialist. What can I say? I love to learn!

For the colleges, I attended Northeast State Community College and received a degree in Business Management with a concentration on finance. Back in the day I thought I wanted to be a banker.

Several years later I went to Tennessee College of Applied Technology for their LPN program. This surprised everyone, including myself, because up until that point I had never been interested in health care. One of my friends talked me into taking a medical billing and coding class. After that I worked as a clerical associate in the hospital. I was around nurses all the time so I got acclimated to all things medical. The hospital offered a CNA class so I decided to take it. They later offered a PCP class which was a step up from CNA so I took it. We learned how to draw blood and a few other things. Then the hospital offered the NET test to get into nursing school. I did very well on it, but I did not take the LPN class through the hospital because I did not want to be obligated to work there for several years in return.

Soon after taking the test, I quit my job at the hospital and went to LPN school on my own. I’ve worked in many specialties over the years, but now I work from home reviewing medical charts and this is by far my favorite job in the medical field. I also love the flexibility of working from home.
