It’s been a while since I’ve posted about our manufactured home renovation project. I should probably call is our “rebuild project” because that is pretty much what we are doing. It’s actually been a while since I’ve posted pretty much anything. This journey has been so time consuming. I have been taking plenty of pictures and some videos along the way, but honestly I just haven’t had the energy to compile them into a worthwhile post. Our days consist of getting up and going to our jobs as normal, 40 hours a week, thankfully, I work from home, then going out to the other house to work on it until dark. We have allowed occasional breaks like a 4 day trip to the beach in May, but we decided up front that we wouldn’t skip church to work on the house so our renovation time has been limited. And other than hiring a company to put on a new roof and having a contractor acquaintance come help us remove a load bearing wall, we have done it all ourselves. Only occasionally have we enlisted the help of our kids. It was especially needed when installing the french doors!
The most frustrating part of this project has been that anytime we want to work on something there is something else that needs to be done prior. Example: We couldn’t put up sheetrock until the ceiling was put up, windows were replaced, wiring was done, etc. It has constantly been that kind of thing holding us up, and while I can do a lot there are some things that only Joe can do so that leaves me frustrated trying to find what I can do in the meantime to get something else accomplished. He has a goal to be ready to list our current house by July 15th, but I don’t see that as a possibility. Maybe by August. That would be a year since we bought it. I hope and pray it doesn’t drag out longer than that!

It’s looking good 👍🏼
It’s coming along nicely.
This looks great. Do you have any articles on where you started with this project? It’s always interesting to see these builds from start to finish. thanks, Ben
