Portugal to Spain: Embarking on the Camino de Santiago Adventure

Daily writing prompt
If you won two free plane tickets, where would you go?

If I won two plane tickets I would fly to Portugal to walk the coastal route of the Camino de Santiago, a renowned pilgrimage route to Spain. I have completed three books that chronicle the experiences that people have had on the trail, and have watched several movies and documentaries. The 500-mile trail dates back to the 9th century and is known for its spiritual significance and the opportunity it provides for introspection and personal growth. This sounds wonderful to me and on my journey, I would like to challenge myself physically and mentally, immerse myself in nature, and encounter different cultures along the way.

While the path is obviously difficult, the rewards of personal growth, self-reflection, and spiritual enlightenment make it a compelling undertaking. I don’t know if it will happen for me, but I believe that walking the Camino de Santiago would be a valuable opportunity to disconnect from daily distractions and reconnect with myself and the world around me. I’m going to think positively and say that I look forward to the day when I can begin this journey and witness its beauty and richness firsthand.

  1. Very cool. It’s nice, not only to have a destination, but to have a specific thing to do, as well. We would probably go to Scotland for genealogical study.
