Write about a time when you didn’t take action but wish you had. What would you do differently?
Looking back to when I was young, I find myself grappling with a huge sense of regret for not mustering up strength in asserting my individuality. The fear of challenging my parents’ expectations often overshadowed my desire to forge my own path. This internal struggle stifled my growth and made me hesitant to explore my true passions and ambitions. Unfortunately, this caused many issues as I grew older. I struggled to discover who I really was. Although I recognize the importance of guidance from parents, I realize now that my reluctance to voice my opinions and stick to my guns when I was told, “No, you don’t want to do that” hindered my personal development. How could anyone else know what I truly wanted? Embracing autonomy and building resilience are lessons I wish I had prioritized earlier, as they proved essential for realizing my full potential in life. It’s taken a while, but I’m finally figuring it out and finding my voice. Better late than never!
