Hey y’all. The Meteorologists Got it Right

Just a light dusting.

Well, hello frigid weather. Welcome. We are up high in the corner of East Tennessee, just a few miles from Virginia. The weather is always colder and snowier (is that even a word?) across the state line. Today, however we could give them a run for their money. The wind chill warnings were accurate. Congrats meteorolologists, you were not wrong this time!

When we awoke before sunrise this morning the wind chimes were blowing almost violently against the side of our house. Clang, clang, BANG. Clang, clang, BANG.

The citronella plant I forgot to bring inside. It looks pretty cool in black & white.

Harper’s kennel is beside the sliding glass doors in our bedroom and she lay there growling at the chimes, the snow on the deck, or the wind wildly blowing the trees from side to side. It could’ve even been her own shadow. I’m not sure. She’s a little bit jumpier as she has gotten older.

Anyway I took some photos a few minutes ago. The temperature is 5 degrees now with a wind chill of -13 so I wasn’t out there very long. Other than a quick trip down the road to the dollar store I think that I’m probably settled in for the day. For now, chicken is in the instant pot for a casserole later and pre-holiday cleaning and Christmas movie watching has begun.

Where are you located and how’s the weather there? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below. Be safe and have a blessed holiday! 🎄

Our road. It still looks pretty yucky to me but they tell me it’s not slick.

  1. Happy Holidays to you! I am in Indiana. We love to vacation in Tennessee. I absolutely love the snow, but do wish it wasn’t quite so drastically cold. I have had little birdies nestling outside my front door trying to block the wind…of course, I now have safe warm boxes set up to help block the wind for them. Stay warm!

  2. Brrrrr! I’m in SW Colorado and we have had some cold weather here too lately. I am not a fan of the cold and snow. One nice thing about where we live is even in the winter we get some nice, warm days. If the sun is shining it can feel pretty warm!
