What is the earliest memory you have?
The absolute first memory that came to mind when I saw today’s prompt was from my pre-school days. When my parents got married and for several years of my childhood they lived in a one bedroom apartment. My mother didn’t work at that time and I remember how we would often spend the mornings watching t.v. in the living room.
I had a small, avocado green table and chair set. Mother would set it up in front of the t.v. and squeeze into one of the chairs next to mine and we would watch Sesame Street, Captain Kangaroo, and Romper Room while eating our breakfast or lunch. Even though I know she wasn’t satisfied in that small apartment we had some good times there.
I’m thankful for this prompt as it brought a sweet childhood memory back to my mind. I’ve included 3 short YouTube clips below for your retro viewing pleasure. Haha. Enjoy!
I can’t wait to read other Bloganuary memory posts. Have a great day!

Great memory! I watched all those shows too as a kid. And Mr. Rogers too.
Perhaps we’re around the same age? (I was born 1963).
I was born in 1979. How did I forget Mr. Rogers?? I wonder if the movie is any good?
1970, not 1979. Sheesh. It wouldn’t let me edit my comment.
Wonderful memories.
Have a fabulous day. ♥
Thanks. You, too.
Captain Kangaroo! Romper Room!!! OMG! Thanks for the memories. Great videos.
I hadn’t thought about those shows in ages!
Such great memories to have.
Yes, the good old days!
Such special memories with your mom. It’s not about what we have but who we do it with for sure! Makes me think about how my kids will remember me!
I wonder the same thing. I hope they remember the good things most.
I think I remember more good than bad about my mom.
Me, too. 😊 We’re blessed.
What a lovely memory! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for reading. 😁
I grew up with these guys. Born in 1953. Sweet memories.
It was fun watching them again. 😊
