The Power Of A Good Pair Of Shoes

Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes, and where they’ve taken you.

It was an ordinary February day in 2020 when I decided to purchase my first pair of Brooks. Little did I know, I was in for an adventure.

I saw them online and was immediately drawn to the colors. I tend to go for anything unique and the tropical flowers on the midsole just made me happy. They had them at a local Dick’s so I went to try them on. The shoes were perfect; they were comfortable, lightweight and had a good grip for most any surface. I was so excited to wear them.

Little did I know, I had unknowingly bought them at the perfect time. When COVID-19 hit, all of my plans for the year were put on pause. I had to find a way to keep myself occupied, so I started going on more walks. These shoes started a journey that would take me out of my house, away from people and into the woods, on trails, and just around my neighborhood. I enjoyed the freedom and adventure that kept me from being cooped up in my house listening to the grim news.

These Brooks were my saving grace during the COVID pandemic. They hold a special place in my heart and on my feet. Let the adventures continue…

  1. I’m a Brooks wearer, too. Currently I have 5 pair of the same Brooks running shoe (Launch 8) all in different colors, and with varying mileage. Not all purchased together, but all purchased on sale! I have trouble letting them go, even when I know they’d quickly give me shin splints if I actually ran in them, due to the worn down midsole. Yours look awesome! My favorite pair right now are tie dye, though they’ve got WAY too many miles for anything but brief casual wear. Makes me a little sad.
