Birds! Birds are the worst pets in my opinion. I have a cockatiel named Nellie that we got when my son was a baby. He’s 21 now! Nellie may outlive us all. She spits seeds everywhere. I’m constantly having to clean them up but I never seem to get them all. And cleaning her cage is just nasty. She normally doesn’t make a lot of noise, but she somehow knows when I have a headache. Then she shrieks like a wild banshee. She also screams when we all go downstairs and settle down to watch a movie.

What was I thinking? I guess I was just young and naive. The sweetest thing that she does is change her tone when it’s just my daughter around. Her tweets are soft and different with her. But will I get another bird? Never!
