How do you practice self-care?
I know from experience that it can be so easy to put others before yourself. In the past I have gone to extremes to make sure my friends and family were happy, often putting my own needs aside to do so. But as time went on, I began to feel drained and unfulfilled. It was then that I realized I had been neglecting my own needs.
In order to truly care for others, I needed to care for myself first. So I started to make time for myself each day. Depending on my mood on a given day I may read a book, go for a walk, or take a relaxing bath. Prayer and meditation also help me a lot. I began to prioritize my health I try to make sure that I am eating well and getting enough exercise.
As I began to care for myself, I found that I had more energy and enthusiasm to care for others. My relationships improved, and I began to feel more fulfilled in my own life. It became obvious that by neglecting myself, I was actually doing a disservice to those around me as well.
Through this experience, I learned that self-care isn’t selfish, but rather necessary for a well-rounded life. I encourage you to take time yourself and prioritize your own needs. After all, how can you care for anyone else unless you first care for yourself?

Great article. That is true. How can you take care of others, not looking after yourself. I know that I’m struggling with that as well…
This is so true. Caring for oneself is not selfish at all. But a priority
I agree with you Sadje. But then why does it feel selfish sometimes?
So true
