Oh. My. Goodness. I love food, and I try to eat healthy so grilled, broiled Mediterranean type dishes and a variety of salads make me really happy. The first thing that popped into my mind, however, was a treat that I got while in the Outer Banks in North Carolina. If you’ve never been to the Outer Banks, they are a string of barrier islands that span 120 miles. Beautiful beaches abound without being too “touristy”. The vibe is very chill.

We ate lunch one day at Nags Head Pizza Company. The food there was great but what stood out to me was the Surfin’ Spoon ice cream. I tried a Lemon Lavberry, which is two lemon sugar cookies with lavender blueberry ice cream in between. It was amazing! Since then I’ve often said that I would drive the 7 & 1/2 hours again just for another one! If you’re ever in the area don’t leave without trying one. You’ll thank me for it. 😉
