There is nothing healthy about holding a grudge. It will always lead to negative emotions and mess up your relationships. It’s much easier to address any issues or conflicts right away instead of allowing resentment to build up. Holding onto negative feelings and resentment leads to stress and anxiety. That has a negative impact on mental and physical health and I want no part of it. Instead, I try to approach conflict with an open mind and a willingness to find a solution that fosters peace.
Forgiveness and moving forward will lead to stronger and more positive relationships. The last time I checked I still wasn’t perfect, so it just isn’t fair for me to expect perfection from other people.
Ephesians ESV 4:32 – Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
