Less Is More

What are your feelings about eating meat?

I’ve started to transition to a more plant-based diet. When I eat meat it’s usually fish or chicken instead of red meat. Sugar is not my friend. I’ve noticed that I tend to feel sluggish and moody after eating it so I’m trying to eliminate all added sugar. Thankfully fruits don’t make me feel that way so my smoothies are safe. 😁

Since making the decision to become more deliberate with my food choices I feel a lot better. Instead of viewing food as a source of pleasure or comfort, I am learning to approach it as fuel for my body. This shift in mindset has allowed me to prioritize my health and well-being, rather than solely indulging in cravings or societal pressures.

By making intentional and mindful choices about what I eat, I am able to nourish my body with the nutrients it needs to thrive. I am committed to the mantra of “eating to live, not living to eat” and am already experiencing positive changes in my physical and mental health.

  1. I truly appreciate your philosophy! I am a ‘mostly’ plant eating vegan. I have the occasional salmon meal and a little cheese now and then. My diet is quite varied with lots of veggies, beans, quinoa, nuts, seeds, plant butters – the plant list goes on and on.
I’m currently scouring the net for yummy vegan meals and am delighted with the variety available. Currently, I have found a number of smoothies with beans and/or chickpeas as their base. I was really ‘taken aback’ when I first read of them. However, now they are becoming a part of a growing plant based diet my body loves and responds to very well.

  2. Its not often, but if I have any meat, then it’s only chicken. Otherwise I am a fish person. Although I am not eating fish from the freezer section like I use to with it getting so expensive.

Since when stress levels elevated back in 2019 and onwards, I started getting worser and worser with comfort eating. (The sweet sugared stuff.) But I started taking back control to get back to how I used to be when it came to eating things likes cakes and biscuits as the occasional treat. But I have my odd moments where I still do it, eating more than I usually would.

Its a year ago when I lost part sight in my right eye. It was like a roller blind had been pulled down just over half way. But things have improved since then. The blind has gone and its just a blur if I look with that eye only. But I can see with it like faces and text, where before, I couldn’t. I am still being kept an eye on, so this month will soon be a year being under them. They plan to see me again a d if they are not late with that, then I will expect that appointment this month. I don’t have glaucoma. But they wanted to still check me again to make sure that glaucoma does not appear with that on my mum’s side of the family.
Otherwise, the cause of all this which caused inflammation at the back of my eye and my eye troubles could have been caused by my bad eating habbit I had and the stress.
