My best friend and I are going to the Boyz 2 Men concert tonight. I saw them at the Funfest in Kingsport a couple of years ago and they were great. Very well preserved. 😄 So I’m looking forward to getting my MotownPhilly on. The concert is at the Hard Rock Casino in Bristol. It’s been open for 2 or 3 years, but the concert venue is pretty new. I’m excited to check it out. Supper will be at Southern Craft barbecue. My friend has already reserved us a table. We wanted to eat at Hard Rock Cafe, but apparently they don’t take reservations. We were afraid a lot of the other concert goers would have the same thought so we aborted that idea.
Saturday mornings are most often spent with my mother. I usually end up deciding what to do. It gets exhausting , but when I ask her what she wants to do I get, “Whatever you want”…. Sadly, what I want is to lay in bed from time to time, but that guilt is a powerful thing!
Hubby got a new fishing boat this week. Saturday evening we are taking it out for its inaugural spin on South Holston. It’s been a few years since we had a boat. I’ve missed it. Being on the water gives me such a sense of peace and I’m so looking forward to it. We’ve never had a “new” boat before and I was surprised when he read me the instructions for the motor. We can’t just put it in the water and take off. Apparently there are guidelines for starting out. We can only go so fast for so many hours to break it in and it advances as you go along. It’s a lot more in depth than I realized. We’ll see how that goes.
Sunday is church and most weeks we eat lunch with the kids. It’s nice to have the weekly catch up since our daughter is married now. I miss seeing her all the time. She lives 45 minutes away so I mostly see her & her hubby on Sundays and Wednesday nights. Our son is currently still home, but may be going to grad school this fall. He’s currently wait-listed. If he goes away I’m not sure how I’ll deal with that, but we’ll cross that bridge if/when the time comes.
That’s it for me. Looking at it written down it seems like my weekend is going to be pretty full. I have to find time to landscape soon. I’ve started tilling around the house getting it ready to plant, but the variety of shrubs and flowers are still limited at the local garden centers. It will probably be a couple more weeks before I purchase anything. I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!
