Before my Dad passed away he gifted me his 1962 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport convertible. In my mind I can see him signing over the title like it was yesterday, not a year ago. I was sitting beside him on the loveseat. He had been sick for so long and suffered through chemo and radiation to no avail. By this point most of his time was spent laying down, but he sat up for this because he was determined to get it settled and ease his mind. He told me that the car hadn’t been started in years and that I would need to empty and clean the gas tank before starting it. FYI, the car tag was last renewed in 1999.
So several weeks ago we attempted to roll it out of the garage to clean it up and start on the gas tank. But it wouldn’t budge. At all. We discovered that the brakes were locked up. So now the real work begins. Fun times ahead…
